Orana park

Location: Victoria
Area: 4,674 hectares

Orana Park (Orana) is Tiverton’s cornerstone sustainable agriculture demonstration asset. At almost 4,700 ha the farm is in the final stages of converting from conventional farming practice, to reach its potential as a fully integrated sustainable cropping, horticulture and natural capital farming asset.

Impact highlight

Soil Carbon Project

Orana is home to an Australian leading cropping for soil carbon project, which is registered with the Australian Government's Clean Energy Regular, making it eligible to produce Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs). Critically, the use of RegenAGE’s suite of LBF products along with sustainable cropping interventions, is modelled to sequester up to 300,000 tonnes of CO2e, which is roughly equivalent to the annual emissions of 150,000 cars.

Orana Sanctuary

Orana Sanctuary, a 200 hectare predator free safe-haven, has been established the protection of threatened species, including the Bush stone-curlew and Eastern bettong. In a major boost to Odonata Foundation’s Bush stone-curlew recovery program, the first release of curlews occurred at Orana in late 2023, contributing to the Foundation’s broader metapopulation management model for the species. Subsequent monitoring has shown that this is the most successful translocation of the species to date.

Orana Olive Grove:

The development and subsequent operation of the 1000 ha olive grove at Orana has been a major achievement for Tiverton to date, with the expectation being that it will be a key driver of both strong annual financial returns and asset value appreciation for Tiverton going forward.

The development of the olive grove enabled us to utilise RegenAGE's LBF products from the outset of soil preparation and tree establishment works. To date, this process has resulted in a reduction of a third of synthetic inputs used at the grove, when compared to standard agricultural practice, representing a significant environmental and economic outcome. It has also seen harvest achieved a year ahead of schedule, further highlighting the success of this project.
